Application for
Web Administrator
and
Assistant to Editor and Publisher of WEBsmith:
Greetings: This web page can be considered an open letter to Belinda Frazier, Jonathan Gross, Phil Hughes, or anyone else who might be involved in selecting a candidate for this position. A web page seemed like a more dynamic and interesting way to present myself to you than any cover letter and resumé ever could be.
I've read over the job description several times, and I'm convinced that I could comfortably handle both positions. I intend to convince you of the same thing.
However, since this is a web page--and since I conceived and started work on this page before the duties of this position were established--I intend to mainly work on persuading you that I'm a suitable candidate for maintaining the web site.
And here are four reasons why.
A few words about my background with the Internet, with the World Wide Web, and with web page design. Includes references.
My comments on the current WEBsmith web site, especially on areas that I feel need improvement--areas that I would make it a priority to work on as web site maintainer.
A few ideas I have of projects that I would like to do for the WEBsmith site, and directions I would like to take the page. Essentially, a look at what my design philosophy for the page would be.
I address at least one concern that you may still have after reading the other sections.
Aside from being easily reached at extension 115 at SSC, you can also contact Michael Montoure via e-mail at number6@serv.net if you have any questions or comments.
